Artistic interactions by Hungarian masters and pupils

Madhur Tankha

NEW DELHI: The Hungarian Information and Culture Centre in collaboration with Lalit Kala Akademi is mounting a contemporary art exhibition at the Akademi premises here beginning this Sunday.

Colourful material

The weeklong exhibition, titled “Masters and Young Talents from Hungary”, will feature colourful material -- varying in sizes and genres -- that intends to represent an artistic communication. The exhibited works interact with one another; some of them involve in a master-pupil relationship.

Specially focused on the conceptual interference penetrating the various generations, the exhibition is an attempt to show those parallel signals, symbols and ways of symbol usage that reveal cross-reference while construing a system in certain visual models.

Distinguished artists

The exhibition will showcase distinguished artists and crucial art pieces from “Contemporary Art from Pecs -- the Cultural Capital of Europe 2010”.

The selected material of the exhibition from Pecs offers several contact surfaces through which the visitors are enriched with a huge set of cultural, socio-cultural, cognitive patterns, ways of the use of materials and objects, painting methods, compositions in sculpture and applications of the media.

Mounted for second time

As part of the successful “Magyar Masala – Hungary Culture in Focus”, the exhibition is being mounted for the second time.

The earlier one was held at Sumukha Gallery in Bangalore this past month.
