Gulf examinations: Various examinations of the Institute of Distance Education will begin at the University’s centres in the Gulf countries on March 11. Applications can be submitted without fine till February 18, with a fine of Rs. 50 till February 20 and with a fine of Rs. 250 till February 22. The detailed time table can be had from the university web site from February 12 onwards.

Junior research fellowship: Applications have been invited for the junior research fellowships in science, social science and humanities subjects. Candidates who have cleared the UGC/CSIR, JRF examinations can apply. For the first two years the fellowship will be Rs.10,000 a month and for the next three years, Rs. 12,000. For science subjects the annual contingent grant will be Rs. 12,000 and for humanities subjects, including social science subjects, the grant will be Rs. 10,000. The application form can be had from the University office. The last date for submitting the forms is February 29.

Research fellow: Applications have been invited for the post of junior research fellow for a nano biotechnology research project in the Department of Biochemistry. The fellowship will be for a term of three years. Those with a PG degree in biochemistry, biotechnology or allied branches and with a research experience of six months can apply. Applications should be sent, before February 20, to Dr. Anne Abraham, the principal investigator of the project at the Department.

Gandhian fest concludes: The valedictory function of the ninth Gandhi arts festival organised by the Centre for Gandhian Studies of the university was inaugurated by Pannian Ravindran, MP. Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University V. Prakas presided over the function.

PG Diploma: The post graduate diploma examinations in HRM, MM, TATM, TM will be held on February 19, 21, 25, 27 and 29 at the IDE, Kariavattom.

Examination centre: Students who have applied for the first year Master of Hospital Administration examination scheduled on February 14, 18, 20 and 23 should get the hall ticket from the University College, Thiruvananthapuram, which is also the examination centre.

Revaluation: Applications for the revaluation and scrutiny of the answer sheets of the first year B.Com examinations held in April 2007 can be submitted till February 15.
