KASARAGOD: The Rapid Action Force (RAF) staged a flag march on the violence- hit Balla beach at Kanhangad in the district on Wednesday. The RAF marches were held at Meenappese, Ajanoor, Kattadi, Poyyakkara, Kolavayal, Chithari areas, which had witnessed violent clashes between supporters of IUML and CPI(M). Several persons were injured and houses and property were destroyed in the clashes that occurred on Tuesday. Meanwhile, The police have registered two cases against 114 persons for trying to foment communal violence in the Balla beach and nearby areas. As many as six persons had been arrested in connection with the violence. Meanwhile, four youths, who are natives of Chemmanad in the district, had been arrested by the Bekal police on Wednesday for allegedly trying to damage posters of a temple festival.
