Karunanidhi to be felicitated

CHENNAI: Several scholars will felicitate Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi for declaring the first day of the ‘Thai’ month as the Tamil New Year day at a function to be held at Valluvar Kottam here on Saturday, Finance Minister K. Anbazhagan said on Wednesday.

Mr. Anbazhagan said a host of events would be held throughout the day.

Public Works Minister Durai Murugan, who is also the president of the Sanga Tamizh Peravai, which is organising the function, would take part.
