Vardhan doubts Sheila claim
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Questioning how the Delhi Government that has not constructed a single flat for the poor in the past nine years now intends to construct 43,000 of them over the next 10 months, Delhi BJP president Harsh Vardhan has accused Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit of “only showing dreams to the poor”.
In a statement, Dr. Vardhan said the Chief Minister had announced that under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, 43,804 flats would be constructed for the poor in Delhi. He also pointed out that Ms. Dikshit had earlier announced that her government would construct 4 lakh flats for the Dalits, poor people of slums and deprived persons. “But given its track record the Congress was only trying to befool the people.”
