Goa XI in last four

MUMBAI: Goa XI went down 4-3 to Central Railway in the tie-breaker of the quarterfinals of the sixth Sim Clinpharm KSA all-India veterans football tournament, played at Karnataka SA ground. Both teams were goalless at full time.

Goalkeeper Manoj Nair shone under the bar as Central edged out experienced Goa to book a semifinal berth.

Air-India downed Century Rayon 4-2 in another quarterfinal which extended to the tie-breaker, where custodian Vijay Swamy’s alertness helped the former.

The results: Air-India 4 (Santan D’souza, K Reaz , Anil Kumar, David Cardoz) bt Century Rayon 2 (Milton, Anil). Central Railway 4 (Asif Jamal, Pascal Pereira, Thomas Castellino, Augusto D’Silva) bt Goa XI 3 (Lawrence Gomes, Inacio Viegas, Xavier Colaco).
