Joshi jolts Advani

KOCHI: Devendra Joshi jolted World champion Pankaj Advani as host BPCL dethroned ONGC and won the team title in the fourth Petroleum Sports Promotion Board’s inter-unit billiards championship at the Regional Sports Centre here on Wednesday night.

IOC, which was making its debut in the championship, defeated Oil India finished third.

The results: Final: BPCL bt ONGC 480-461 (Devendra Joshi 200 Pankaj Advani 180; Manan Chandra 200 Sourav Kothari 98; Shahbas Khan 80 Alok Kumar 183).

For third place: IOC bt Oil India 2-0 (Aditya Mehta bt J.K. Kotoki 200-66, Arif Mohammed bt T.C. Das 200-87).

Semifinals: BPCL bt IOC 2-1 (Manan Chandra lost to Aditya Mehta 112-200, Devendra Joshi bt Arif Mohammed 200-107, Shabaz Khan bt Shravan Mohota 196-180); ONGC bt Oil India 2-0 (Pankaj Advani bt J. Cheda 200-27, Dhruv Sitiwala bt T.C. Das 200-46). – Principal Correspondent
