Sangareddy: A delegation of Communist Party of India (Marxist) that visited the tail end of the Devadula lift at the Medak-Warangal borders in the Cheryala mandal of Warangal district on Wednesday demanded the State government to allocate funds and complete the part in Medak district by 2008. The delegation comprised of Member of Legislative Council Cherupalli Seetharam, State secretariat members Karampalli Mallareddy, Veeraiah, Medak committee secretary Chukka Ramulu, district secretariat members Mallikharjun, Rajaiah and B. Mallesh, visited and reviewed the ongoing work at the Tapaspalli reservoir near Siddipet. Later addressing a public meeting at Lakdaram of Kondapaka mandal in Medak district, Seetharam pointed out that the government has plan to wind up the project at Tapaspalli reservoir. He alleged that the government, which has promised water from the Devadula lift to 40,000 acres of four mandals of the district, has deceived its people. He said that his party would take up an agitation if the government failed to take up the third phase of Devadula immediately. He alleged that the government has no interest in completing Devadula compared to Polavaram or Pothyreddypadu head regulator work. Medak committee secretary Chukka Ramulu warned the government that it would organise a massive movement in the district demanding share in Godavari and Singur water. He opined that Godavari water has not been properly utilised.
