Chandigarh: To deal sternly with violators, the Chandigarh Administration has decided to enhance the penalties for various traffic offences. The decision has been taken to ensure public safety, an official spokesman said here on Wednesday. The enhanced penalty charges for traffic offences would be notified shortly, he said. The revised composition fees for offences under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act would start from Rs.300 and go up to Rs.1,000, he said.
