Ganesh, Aditya shine

CHENNAI: Good knocks by G. Karthik Ganesh (64 off 78 balls) and Aditya Giridhar (50 off 55 balls) helped PSBB senior secondary school beat Santhome HSS and win the Vidya Mandir-Sportstar under-13 cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

The scores: Santhome HSS 187 for eight in 50 overs (Prassanna 46, V. Vignesh 30) lost to PSBB Sr. Sec School 188 for two in 40 overs (G. Karthik Ganesh 64, Adithya Giridhar 50, Akash 46). Semifinals: Santhome HSS 130 for eight in 30 overs (Prassanna 28, B. Nishaanth 27) bt Vidya Mandir SSS 78 in 27.1 overs (Ravikumar three for 16, B. Nishanth three for 12).

PSS School 107 in 29 overs (M.S. Suraj 56) lost to PSBB SSS, K.K. Nagar 110 for four in 22.1 overs (G. Karthik Ganesh 39, V. Aditya 29).

Vinoth scalps seven

Vinoth Kannan’s seven for 41 was instrumental in Kamyuth Club’s 64-run win over Purasawalkam in a fifth division ‘B’ zone encounter, in the TNCA cricket league held here recently.

Hat-trick by Krishan

P. Krishnan’s hat-trick enabled Modern ‘A’ defeat Marthoma by 209 runs in the TNCA city schools under-13 cricket tournament held here on Wednesday.

The scores:

Modern ‘A’ 252 for four in 28 overs (K.B. Dixit 63, Uday Teja 58, M. Karthik 40) bt Marthoma 43 in 22.1 overs (Uday Teja three for 13, P. Krishnan three for 1, inclusive of a hat-trick).

Sri Sankara 79 in 27 overs (V. Adithya 29, S. Krishna four for 19, Nagarajan three for 13) lost to Maharashi Vidya Mandir 82 for three in 22.2 overs (Kavin 28 not out).

St. Bede’s ‘B’ 133 in 29.3 overs (Joshua Hudson 35) lost to Santhome ‘B’ 134 for five in 26.2 overs (C. Karthik 68 not out).

PSBB Millennium 72 in 29.2 overs (Muralidhar four for 16) lost to Vidya Mandir ‘A’ 73 for four in 16.4 overs.

Jawahar Vidyalaya ‘B’ 102 for five in 30 overs (G. Vignesh three for 13) lost to DAV ‘A’ 103 for one in 12.3 overs (G. Vignesh 54 not out).

Venkatesh scores century

J. Prasanna Venkatesh’s unbeaten 117 guided Madurai DCA to 189 for eight on day one of the TNCA inter-District under-13 semifinal against Tiruvallur DCA.

The scores:

Madurai 189 for eight in 94 overs (J. Prasanna Venkatesh 117 batting, Ateeq Fazal 29, L. Ganesh Lingam three for 31) vs. Tiruvallur.

Chennai Superstars post win

Centuries from V. Saravanan and Hemang Badani powered Chennai Superstars to a six-wicket win over Kolkata Tigers in a high-scoring ICL 50s match on Wednesday.

Saravanan and Badani added 209 as the Superstars overhauled the Tigers’ total of 311 for seven with 11 balls to spare.

Man-of-the-Match Badani scored 112 in 94 balls (8x4, 4x6).

Saravanan (107 n.o.) hit the winning runs

Kolkata Tigers 311 for seven in 50 overs (Subhomoy Das 80, Rohan Gasvaskar 61, Deep Dasgupta 54) lost to Chennai Superstars 315 for four in 48.1 overs (R. Sathish 42, V. Saravanan 107 n.o., Hemang Badani 112).
