One killed, two hurt in road accident
NEW DELHI: An unidentified man who was sleeping on the pavement was killed and a mother-and-daughter duo were injured by a Honda City car that was hit by a truck at Mangolpuri here in the wee hours of Wednesday. The truck driver vanished from the scene abandoning the vehicle.The accident took place around 2 a.m. when the truck bearing a Haryana registration number rammed into the Honda City. The driver lost control of the vehicle and drove the car on to the pavement, running over a man in the process. It then hit Sarita and her daughter Vijayalakshmi and overturned after hitting a tree. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where the man was declared brought dead. The police are trying to establish his identity. A case of causing death due to rash driving has been registered against the truck driver.
