650 selected at job fair
VILLUPURAM: Six hundred and fifty candidates were selected for various positions in the fields of information technology, marketing and teaching, at a job fair conducted under the auspices of Theivanai Ammal College for Women here recently.
About 50 companies, including educational institutions from Chennai, Tiruchi, Salem, Puducherry, Cuddalore and Vellore participated. About 2,000 candidates turned up.
Collector Brajendra Navnit, who inaugurated the fair, stressed the importance of extracurricular activities and the need for developing soft skills.
He commended the services rendered by college chairman E. Swamikannu for the cause of education.
