Moradabad police conduct raids in and around the Capital; unable to locate exact addresses yet Gurgaon police raid a couple of places based on clues provided by Jeevan’s wife Pooja NEW DELHI: The Moradabad police have said raids were being conducted in and around the Capital in search of at least half-a-dozen doctors in connection with the multi-crore kidney racket busted in Gurgaon. “Our teams are searching for about six doctors. We have not been able to locate their exact addresses, but investigations have revealed that some of them are residents of Delhi and Gurgaon. Those wanted include Saraj Kumar, S.P. Gupta, Rajesh and a few other doctors,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (Moradabad) Prem Prakash, speaking to The Hindu over phone. As for the possible whereabouts of alleged kingpin Amit Kumar, the Moradabad police officer said: “We are conducting searches for him. We are exploring his contacts”. The Moradabad police have sought the remand of K. K. Aggarwal, who had been arrested at Alwar in Rajasthan, and Amit Kumar’s driver Jagdish. “We can extract important information about the racket from K.K. Aggarwal. He is an anaesthetist and is found to be involved in over 150 cases of transplant. His interrogation will cast more light on the extent of the racket and corroborate the yetiormation given by Upender,” the police officer said. Sources in the Moradabad police said several politicians and bureaucrats had benefited from the illegal transplant racket and there was a possibility that they might try to eliminate Amit Kumar as he could expose all of them. Police raidMeanwhile, the Gurgaon police raided a couple of places based on the clues provided by Jeevan’s wife Pooja. She had been arrested on charges of collecting money on behalf of Amit Kumar and his brother Jeevan Kumar.
