Rain at many places

NEW DELHI:

RAINFALL: Rain/snow has occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: HIMACHAL PRADESH: Shimla and Kahu 2 each and Berthin, Bhunter, Guler, Kasol, Nadaun, Nagrotasurian, Pandoh, Rampur Bushahr, Sundernagar, Sunnibhajji and Sujanpurtira 1 each. JAMMU AND KASHMIR: Quazigund 7, Kukernag 6, Bahihal, Batote and Srinagar 4 each and Avantipur and Pahalgam 3 each and UTTARANCHAL: Dehradun 1.

TEMPERATURE: The minimum temperatures rose in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. They were appreciably below normal in Punjab and west Rajasthan, below normal in east Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 03.0°C recorded at Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).

FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 09th February 2008: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Punjab, at a few places in north Haryana and at isolated places in south Haryana, west Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region. Isolated Hailstorm is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu division.

FORECAST FOR DELHI AND NEIGHBOURHOOD VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 09th February 2008: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain/thundershowers. The minimum temperature will be around 06°C. Mist likely tomorrow morning.
