Actor Kunal commits suicide

Mumbai: Actor Kunal Singh allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his rented apartment in the posh Lokhandwala complex locality in Andheri here on Thursday.

The reason behind the actor taking the extreme step is yet to be ascertained, a senior police officer from the Oshiwara police station said.

The 31-year-old actor acted in some Hindi movies and also featured in a Tamil movie recently. Lately he had switched over to film production and was working on a Hindi project, the officer said.

Kunal, who came to the city around two years ago, is survived by wife and two daughters. His body has been sent for post-mortem.

Our Chennai Staff Reporter writes:

Kunal was introduced by director Kadhir in his film “Kadalar Dinam”, opposite Sonali Bendre. He went on to act in 10 other Tamil films. He has also acted in a few Hindi films, prominent among them being “Dil Hi Dil Mein”.
