Canara Bank, MLI in last four

BANGALORE: Canara Bank and Maratha Light Infantry (MLI) entered the semifinals of the Field Marshal Cariappa memorial hockey tournament here on Thursday.

Canara Bank defeated Central Excise 3-1, while MLI beat MEG 2-1.

Jupiter FC posts win

Jupiter FC defeated Bangalore Boys 4-2 in the State ‘C’ division football championship in Bangalore on Thursday. A brace by Raj Kumar was the highlight of Jupiter’s win.

Powerlifting championship

Karnataka Powerlifting Association, Dakshina Kannada Powerlifting Association and D.S. Sports Promoters are organising the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District powerlifting championship and State-level bench press competition for men and women at Urwa Stores ground (Mangalore) from Saturday.

The State event will serve as selection trials for the National championship to be held at Mumbai during the last week of February.
