Achieve targets, Collector tells officials

Staff Reporter

Erring staff warned of action

‘Pasukranti’ comes up for discussion

Kakinada: District Collector M. Subrahmanyam has ordered district officials to achieve the targets under the 20-point economic programme well before the end of the financial year and warned that action would be taken against the erring officials and staff.

Addressing a review meeting, Mr. Subrahmanyam said that notices seeking reasons for the failure to achieve the targets would be served and it would be accompanied by disciplinary action.

Already, the Women and Child Development, Disabled Welfare and Youth Services Departments reached their targets and other departments and government agencies should follow the suit.

Job scheme

Referring to the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), Mr. Subrahmanyam said that steps were taken to provide employment for at least 100 days to 50,000 families in the current year.

Necessary mechanism should be put in place lest the district should lag behind others in implementing the prestigious scheme.

The Collector also discussed the ‘Pasukranti’ scheme and the assurances made by the Chief Minister during his recent visits to the district.

ITDA Project Officer Yogita Rana, DRDA Project Director Ch. Kumara Swami, Chief Planning Officer G. Surendra Babu and other officials were present.
