Anis Ahmed, Secretary, Karnataka Forum for Dignity, Bangalore, writes: This has reference to the news item under the heading “Some IT professionals under police scanner” (The Hindu, Bangalore edition, Page 5, February 7, 2008). The report that claims to be based on sources in the intelligence agencies accuses the KFD of being associated with a radical network. The forum categorically denies this allegation as we do not have any such connection. This clearly is a case of tampering by the “Hindutva elements”... to “abuse almost all active Muslim organisations with mass base.” The “irresponsible news item”, Mr. Ahmed added, “heavily tarnishes the image of our organisation which is a peoples’ movement striving for equal rights to all Indians, especially for justice to discriminated and marginalised classes like Muslims, Dalits and tribals.”
