1,015 civil assistant surgeons for PHCs

HYDERABAD: The Government has so far appointed as many 1,015 civil assistant surgeons under the fresh recruitment to man an equal number of primary health centres across the State.

The counselling exercise, taken up for the selected candidates under this recruitment, was completed on Wednesday. Announcing this at a press conference here on Thursday, Minister for Health & Family Welfare S. Chandrasekhar said the Government had issued notification to fill 1,284 vacancies of civil assistant surgeons and selected 1,224 candidates from the those who responded. As against this response, appointment orders had been issued to 1,015 candidates. The Minister, however, ruled out the possibility of the Government complying with any requests for transfer .
