Valentine’s Day worries

The pretty young things of Hyderabad have little to cheer about this Valentine’s Day. Given the brouhaha raised by the so-called ‘moral-brigade’ (read-custodians of Indian culture), it’s unlikely that any youngster from Hyderabad would even dare to ‘mingle’ at city hotspots on February 14.

In the last few years, the protests have only grown ‘shriller’ and dangerous. The moral-brigade has made it a point to ‘man’ streets, parks and other meeting places with ‘Raakhis’ and anti-Valentine day slogans. On several occasions, even the media has ‘aired’ live visuals of the proceedings, when the moral-brigade was at ‘work’.

So, if you are planning something for Valentine’s Day, plan judiciously.

M. SAI GOPAL
