Secretariat march

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The joint action council of panchayat employees has decided to organise a Secretariat March on February 12 to press their various demands. Council chairman C.R. Jose Prakash said in a statement here on Thursday that the march is to press for creation of necessary physical infrastructure to tone up panchayat administration, unification of panchayat secretary post, stoppage of direct recruitment to the panchayat secretary post and grant of promotion to last grade contingent employees. — Special Correspondent
