“Involve in more research activities”

International workshop on advances in bioengineering held


CHENNAI: Increase in research activity pertaining to agriculture biotechnology to meet the growing demand of food production was emphasised at the international workshop and national conference on recent advances in Bioengineering held on Thursday.

Inaugurating the three-day conference organised by the School of Bioengineering, SRM University, chairman of Rasi Seeds and president of Crop Biotech Association of India M.Ramasami. He spoke about the revolution of the cotton seed in the mid 1990s that enabled India to produce cotton in surplus.

Chief technical advisor of UN Office for Project Services (Water, Sanitation and Power Supply) Dinesh Uberoi suggested that students involve themselves in more research activities to improve the life standard of the people.
