KASARAGOD: KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala said here on Friday that a UDF delegation led by Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi on February 12, and submit a memorandum seeking assistance to arrest the spiralling prices of essential commodities in the State. Inaugurating the UDF’s Citizen Right Protection Rally at Bekal, Mr. Chennithala said the Chief Minister had failed to have a political consensus on issues that affected the people and take effective steps to present before the Union government the demands of the State. The internal bickering in the CPI(M) might be preventing him from taking initiatives aimed at solving the problems of the State, the KPCC chief said. Mr. Chennithala said there was no use in criticising the Central government alone for the price rise.
