Rajahmundry: Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University (Extension) Director, S.G. Giri Rao has said that the Indian Council for Agriculture Research and Agriculture Universities in the country have planned to establish 200 FM stations exclusively for farmers. Speaking at a seminar on cashewnut farm development organised by Central Tobacco Research Institute’s Krishi Vignan Kendra (KVK), Kalvacharla and Directorate of cashewnut and coco development, Cochin on Friday here, Mr. Giri Rao said that these FM stations will first start in all 22 KVKs in State and they have applied for permission from the Union Government. He said that these stations will relay programmes related to farmers and benefit them in their farm activities. The senior scientist advised farmers to go for crafting in cashewnut farming to increase the production as it is giving double the results than seedling.
