Belgaum: The Corps of Detectives (CoD), which is investigating terrorist operations involving Mohammed Asif of Hubli, picked up Feroz N. Sanadi of Belgaum on Thursday, according to police sources. Sources said Feroz, proprietor of a lodge at Khadebazaar near the bus stand was picked up and taken to Dharwad for what has been described as “questioning” purpose. Although rumours of the CoD having picked up Mr. Feroz were rife since yesterday, the police said the CoD was carrying out investigations independently. However, an official in the district police headquarters told The Hindu that the younger brother of Feroz Sanadi, Afroz Sanadi was also questioned on Thursday night. Afroz Sanadi too confirmed about his questioning to The Hindu. Meanwhile, sources said the officials from district branch of State Intelligence Department had become suspicious about Mr. Feroz’s movements and had been keeping a watch on him for over a month. They stated that they were only suspicious about him having any links with some illegal outfits. Sources said they had some information about some VCDs on religious matters in the possession of Feroz. Feroz had refused to share it with the department. When contacted, the staff at the lodge said Feroz was yet to return. Even Afroz Sanadi had not visited the lodge on Friday.
