Mani HSS in final

Coimbatore: Mani HSS posted an eight-wicket win over RKS Kalvi Nilayam HSS to enter the final of the CDCA under-15 inter-school cricket tournament for the N. Giridhari Prasad Trophy at the SNR Sons grounds here on Friday.

After restricting RKS to 107 for eight in 30 overs, Mani HSS scored the required runs in 23.3 overs with eight wickets to spare. Mukul chipped in with an unbeaten 41 for the winner.

The scores (semifinals): RKS 107 for eight in 30 overs lost to Mani HSS 108 for two in 23.3 overs (Mukul 41 n.o).

At Thanjavur, Aravindan (City Club) defeated Subash (City Club) 6-2, 6-3 to win the men’s singles title in the A. Krishnasamy Vandayar memorial tennis tournament on Friday.

The results: Singles: Final: Aravindan bt Subash 6-2, 6-3. Semifinals: Aravindan bt Doss 8-2; Subash bt Mubarak 6-4 (conceded).

Doubles: Final: Aravindan & Subash bt Kalyanaraman & Mubarak 6-2, 7-5. Semifinals: Aravindan & Subash bt Raju & Doss 8-2; Kalyanaraman & Mubarak bt Saravanan & Rahman 8-0.
