Clinic for bowlers with suspect actions

Mumbai: About 16 to 17 bowlers who are deemed to have suspect actions have been asked to attend a clinic at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bangalore, at the end of the season.

“This season, the BCCI videographed all Ranji Trophy elite group matches in order to assess and review the performances of the umpires. We also appointed umpires coaches for all the senior tournament matches. We selected a few and sent them to S. Venkatraghavan, Director of Umpires. He has identified the bowlers. He also wanted to know why the umpires did not take action.

The BCCI has asked the NCA to provide a slot so that corrective measures can be taken at a special clinic,” said Mohinder Pandove, Joint Secretary, BCCI.
