Advani, Sitwala in semifinals
KOCHI: Pankaj Advani and Dhruv Sitwala, both from ONGC, entered the semifinals of the fourth Petroleum Sports Promotion Board’s inter-unit billiards championship at the Regional Sports Centre here on Friday.
Advani came up with the day’s highest break, 282, as he crushed Saurav Kothari 933-453, while Sitwala brushed aside BPCL’s Shahbaz Khan 907-314 with two century breaks of 172 and 174.
The results: Quarterfinals (two hours): Devendra Joshi (BPCL) bt Aditya Mehta (IOC) 691-576 (breaks of 164 & 249 by Joshi); Dhruv Sitwala (ONGC) bt Shabaz Khan (BPCL) 972-314 (172 & 174 by Sitwala); Alok Kumar (ONGC) bt Sharavan Mohta (IOC) 948-359 (191 by Alok); Pankaj Advani (ONGC) bt Sourav Kothari (ONGC) 933-453 (142 & 282 by Advani). Pre-quarterfinals: Kothari (ONGC) bt Manan Chandra 730-482.
