BHUBANESWAR: Infrastructure major K. Raheja Corporation has proposed to set up IT Park on the outskirt of capital city for which it has sought at least 100 acres of land. A team led by group president Neel C Raheja made a presentation before Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik evincing interest in setting up thermal power plant, venturing into tourism sector and putting up agriculture infrastructure such as cold storages. “Our future progress depends on how much land the State Government will be able to provide us. As per company’s standard, we usually invest Rs. 1000 crore on 100 acres,” a top company official said emerging out of the meeting here on Friday. The company in the first place asked for 30 acres to set up its incubator to provide knowledge and technical assistance. The proposed IT Park would have the infrastructures to accommodate world-class for IT companies. It also proposed to put up 750-mw capacity coal-fired power plant to feed its upcoming facilities in Orissa as well as outside the State. Speaking to media persons, IT Minister Surya Narayan Patro said the State proposed the company to look for land patches near Infocity-II near Khurda.
