Dry weather

NEW DELHI:

RAINFALL: Rain/snow has occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/ thundershowers have occurred at many places in east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm. are HIMACHAL PRADESH: Guler 2 and Nagrotasuria 1, JAMMU AND KASHMIR: Batote 6, Banihal 4, Avantipur, Kukernag, Quazigund and Udhampur 3 each, Pahalgam 2 and Katra and Srinagar 1 each and EAST PRADESH: Allahabad and Varanasi 1 each.

TEMPERATURE: The minimum temperatures appreciably fell in west Rajasthan, fell in Punjab and Uttarakhand and changed little elsewhere. They were markedly below normal in Punjab and west Rajasthan, below normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 0.9°C recorded at Ludhaina (Punjab).

FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 10th February 2008: During next 24 hours rain/ snow is likely at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttarakhand. After 24 hours isolated rain/ snow over these states. Rain/ thundershowers are likely at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh during next 24 hours, and at a few places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana, north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh during next 24 hours. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region. Night temperature are likely fall over the region by 02 to 04 degree celcius. Isolated Hailstrom are likely in Punjab and Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir.

FORECAST FOR DELHI AND NEIGHBOURHOOD VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 10th February 2008: Partly cloudy sky. Light rain likely during day. The minimum temperature will be around 06°C.
