Idols damaged, one held

VILLUPURAM: Miscreants damaged an idol of Vinayaka and other idols at a temple at Deva Pandalam in Sankarapuram taluk on Thursday night.

The incident took place after the temple closed.

On hearing noise from inside, people gathered in good numbers.

While some of the intruders escaped, one person was nabbed.

On a complaint from the temple priest, the police registered a case. — Special Correspondent
