Srinivasa Reddy in final

VISAKHAPATNAM: V. Srinivasa Reddy in 45-plus category and Muttu Interjit in the 65-plus had to fight hard before making the final of their respective events on Friday in the third CMR-AISTA all-India veterans ranking tournament here.

The results:

Plus 45 years: Semifinals: R.E. Sudarshan Rao (AP) bt R.N. Ramesh (Karna) 6-1, 6-1; V. Srinivasa Reddy (AP) bt Anand Swaroop (AP) 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.

Plus 55: S. Settu (TN) bt A. Chatwal (Del) 6-4, 6-1; R.I. Singh (Del) bt K.R.K. Murthy (AP) 6-1, 6-4.

Doubles: R.I. Singh and D.S.N. Raju bt Ramamohana Rao and A.S.N. Raju 6-1, 6-3.

Plus 65: S. Parekh (Maha) bt T. Sreeedhar (AP) 6-3, 6-0; Muttu Interjit (TN) bt Kulkarni (Karn) 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(5).

Doubles: Parekh and C.B. Raju bt Kesava Perumal and T.N. Lakshmanan (TN) 6-0, 6-0; T. Sreedhar and K.A. Appala Raju bt Prasad and Madhav Murthy 6-1, 6-3.
