Punjab beats TN

Madurai: Amardeep Singh’s goal helped Punjab defeat host Tamil Nadu 1-0 in the Group ‘A’ quarterfinal league, while Bengal prevailed over Mizoram 2-1 in the youth (under-21) National football championship here on Friday.

Meanwhile, Bengal, though having taken a 2-0 lead in the first session, struggled hard to maintain the lead till the end against Mizoram.

For Bengal Somnath Chatterjee and Somnath found the target while Mizoram reduced the margin through Zosangikima.
