55-year-old man found dead

NEW DELHI: A 55-year-old man was found dead in a flat at Saket here under mysterious circumstances on Friday morning. The police suspect he was strangled.

The incident came to light when Pranav Saikia’s wife returned home on Friday morning and found the door to the flat ajar. She found a partially clothed Mr. Saikia lying unconscious, following which she raised an alarm.

The police said there was a friendly entry into the house suggesting that someone known to the victim was involved.

Enquiries revealed that Mr. Saikia was from Assam and had come here a few weeks ago to see his ailing nephew Anshuman Das who is admitted to Max Hospital. The police suspect that Mr. Saikia had recently come into contact with someone who visited him at night and strangled him.
