Delhi Police constable killed in accident

NEW DELHI: A 39-year-old Delhi Police constable was killed and a fellow constable injured when a speeding truck hit their official motorcycle at Gokalpuri here on Friday .

The accident took place around 1 a.m. when Constable Dhirender and Constable Jaibeer were patrolling the area on the motorcycle. The truck hit the two-wheeler from behind near a filling station and dragged it along a few metres killing Dhirender on the spot, the police said. Jaibeer sustained a fracture in his leg.

A case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver who is absconding.
