Lizzie makes a ‘magical’ debut

Lizzie Jacob, the former Chief Secretary, who after quitting her job enrolled for a short-term course in magic under renowned magician Gopinath Muthukad, gave her maiden performance in the city on Saturday. With the dexterity and ease of an experienced magician Ms. Jacob indulged in her “childhood passion” before a gathering over 150 magicians.

The function was organised by the Academy of Magical Sciences, Poojappura, in connection with the 25th death anniversary of renowned magician Vazhakkunnam Neelakantan Namboodiri.

Drawing applause from the audience, the former Chief Secretary successfully performed the “mind reading trick” after paying her respects to Neelakantan Namboodiri and expressing her gratitude to tutors Mr. Muthukad and Rajamoorthy.

Ms. Jacob joined the academy to learn magic four months ago following her voluntary retirement from service.
