NEW DELHI: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Anbumani Ramadoss on Saturday said his Ministry was committed to providing quality health care facilities to all beneficiaries of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). He was speaking at the inauguration of the first diagnostic outsourcing facility of Hindustan Latex -- Hindlabs -- at R.K. Puram here. The centre has been set up in a public-private partnership model with the CGHS and is capable of routine clinical specimen testing and radio imaging service. The centre will primarily cater to CGHS beneficiaries attached to 17 CGHS dispensaries in and around R.K. Puram and will cover a customer base of more than two lakh beneficiaries. Economical services will also be offered to patients outside the CGHS network. Dr. Ramadoss spoke of the need for greater regulation of both private and public clinics in the country. “We will soon be bringing in a law to regulate both private and public clinics to improve the quality of services.”
