CUTTACK: With growing popularity of Yoga among common people, particularly the middle-aged loving it, a weeklong yoga science camp is scheduled to begin here on Wednesday next. Swami Ram Dev would conduct the camp to spread his message of “healthy India and disease-free world”. Peparations are under way at the Baliyatra ground for the purpose in which an estimated 19000 participants would receive training from the Swamiji, said organizers. City BJP legislator Samir Dey, a State Cabinet Minister and city business tycoon Mahimananda Mishra are the chief patrons of the camp. Speaking to newsmen on Friday, Mr Mishra said donation coupons of Rs 100, Rs 500, Rs 1100 and Rs 2100 for the yoga science camp are being sold in all city branches of Punjab National Bank and Urban Cooperative banks. “Since the Swami conducted a similar camp in Bhubaneswar, we thought of arranging one in the city for some people of Cuttack could not attend the Bhubaneswar camp”, Mr Mishra said. “We expect that people from neighbouring districts would attend the Cuttack camp to learn the advantages of Yoga”, Dey said adding that arrangements have been made to sell ntry coupons in Bhubaneswar, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur and Kendrapada. The yoga camp would be held everyday till February 18 from morning 5.30 am to 7.30 am.
