BHUBANESWAR: As the administration continued survey work for the POSCO-India’s proposed steel plant in Jagatsinghpur district, tension has started building up in the area with the POSCO Pratirodh Sangram Samiti reiterating its opposition to the venture. Taking exception to use of policemen for carrying out the survey for the project, president of the Samiti Abhay Sahu said people of Dhinkia would not allow either the police or administration officials enter the village.“We are not scared of police when it comes to protecting our land and livelihood sources,” Mr. Sahu said. Mr. Sahu alleged the administration was going ahead with land demarcation work by terrorising locals. The Samiti will on Sunday declare the 1250 acres of land earmarked for the steel project in Dhinkia village as `No-POSCO zone’, Mr. Sahu said. Continuing the survey for the third day the administration on Saturday started the work in Nuagaon panchayat. They had earlier partially covered four villages. The survey will continue on Sunday, SP R.K. Sharma said.
