Ayesha murder: TD flays move to hand over case to CBI
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party’s women’s wing has objected to the levelling of counter-criticism against the party by the Congress in connection with the murder of pharmacy student Ayesha Meera.
Arrests demanded
It has demanded immediate arrest of persons involved in the brutal killing.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, R. K. Roja, president of the wing, criticised the Government’s decision to hand over the murder enquiry to CBI, saying it amounted to ‘confining the case to cold storage’.
BJP petitions Governor
Meanwhile, a delegation of the State Bharatiya Janata Party headed by Bandaru Dattatreya, presented a memorandum to Governor N.D.Tiwari seeking speedy investigation into the murder case.
The party wanted Mr. Tiwari to summon the authorities and minister concerned to submit facts of the case and to ensure that persons influencing the case were booked at the earliest.
