SJN bags title

Coimbatore: Satchidananda Jothi Niketan (Karamadai) scored a 4-1 win over GKD MHSS (Perianaickenpalayam) to win the all-India rural inter-block hockey tournament, organised by the Coimbatore wing of the SDAT, here on Saturday.

The results (final): Satchidananda Jothi Niketan (Karamadai) 4 (Dinesh 2, Ashwin, Lokesh) bt GKD MHSS (Perianaickenpalayam) 1 (Vignesh).

Semifinals: Satchidananda 4 bt S.S. Kulam 0; GKD 3 bt GHSS (Madukkarai) 0.

Final postponed

The CDCA under-17 inter-school cricket final between Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Maha Vidyalaya and RKS Kalvi Nilayam, scheduled at the Forest College grounds on Saturday, could not be played due to the wet weather.

State-level karate

The first State-level karate championship, organised by the All India Perak Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate Do Federation, will be held at the Holy Angels MHSS in Kavundampalayam on February 10.
