TD resolve on classical status
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party has said it will extend its fullest support to the agitation launched for promotion of Telugu as official language at all the levels.
TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu gave an assurance to this effect to a delegation of Telugu Bhashodyama Samakhya that met him on Saturday.
Mr. Naidu recalled the TDP’s commitment to promote mother tongue in education and administration and it was the government headed by TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao that made it mandatory to issue government orders in Telugu. The Congress, however, failed in continuing the spirit, he said.
