PERAMBALUR: A national e-governance project, envisaging an outlay of Rs.6,000 crore, will be implemented throughout the country during the Eleventh Five Year Plan, said Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology A. Raja on Saturday.
Addressing at a function to mark the inauguration of a sub-court here, he said the project would be implemented on a pilot basis in 100 select districts across the country including four in Tamil Nadu. A sum of Rs.10 crore had been allotted for the districts of Perambalur, Ariyalur, Tiruvarur and Krishnagiri.
Minute details
Explaining the advantages of e-governance, he said every minute detail about various government departments and agencies would be collected and the data base linked to Collectorates. The Collectorates would be linked to Chief Secretariats.
