Seventh State Conference of Mujahids in Wayanad concludes

Clarion call: Hussain Madavoor of the Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen speaking at the valedictory function of the Mujahid State Conference at Panamaram in Wayanad on Sunday.

Kozhikode: The Seventh State Conference of Mujahids ended at Panamaram in Wayanad district on Sunday with a massive show of strength and solidarity.

A massive gathering made up of Mujahids who had reached Panamaram from far and near were reminded of their community’s commitment to waging a relentless battle against superstitions and evil practices.

“Our four-day convention that concluded on Sunday signals a new renaissance in the history of Mujahids. It is also a clear signal to those trying to split the Mujahid movement for selfish ends,” a spokesman of the organising committee said.

From abroad

The event attracted Islamic scholars from within and outside the country. Present on its final day was Islamic scholar from Canada Dr. Jamal Badavi. Dr. Usman Al Siddiqui, Director, Directorate of Religions, Saudi Arabia, inaugurated the valedictory session of the programme organised by Mujahids led by Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen (KNM) leader Dr. E.K. Aheskutty and Dr. Hussain Madavoor.

Besides Dr. Ahamedkuttty, Dr. Hussain Madavoor and Islamic scholar M.T. Abdurahman Maulavi, Leader of Opposition Oommen Chandy, Public Works Minister Mons Joseph, IUML leader P.K. Kunhalikutty, M.P. Verendrakumar, MP; P.V. Abdul Wahab, MP; and NRI businessman M.A. Yusuf Ali also spoke.

The convention, which began on Thursday, heard Arab League Ambassador Dr. Ahammed Saleem Al Wahshi declaring in his inaugural address that the acts of terrorism that were being linked with Islam had nothing to do with the religion.

“No religion can achieve anything through violence,” he declared adding that it was not fair to link any region or religion with violence.

He was also quick to underline the interest that the Arab League had evinced in preserving and strengthening its long-standing relationship with India.
