Cherukolpuzha convention concludes

Staff Reporter

PATHANAMTHITA: The 96th Cherukolpuzha Hindumatha Parishad came to a close with a Maha Sarvaiswaryapuja on the Pampa riverbed at Cherukolpuzha, near Kozhencherry, on Sunday afternoon. Principal Secretary to Prime Minister T.K.A. Nair inaugurated the valedictory function of the convention held at Vidyadhiraja Nagar (Pampa riverbed) at 3.45 p.m.

Mr. Nair, who belongs to the adjoining village of Ayroor, said the river basins of Pampa and Manimala were known for the series of religious congregations every year. He said the religious conventions could very well be made platforms for doing service to society as a whole. Recalling the Puranic dictum, ‘Manava-seva, Madhava-seva,’ Mr. Nair said, “service to humanity was nothing but service to God.”

He also expressed hope that religious congregations would foster love, brotherhood and mutual respect in a better way in modern times.
