Convene meeting with CM on cane: TRS

SANGAREDDY: TRS leader R. Satyanarayana in a press release here on Sunday demanded the Minister for Major Industries and Sugar Geeta Reddy to fulfil the assurances she had made along with in-charge Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah to the sugarcane farmers of the district.

He pointed out that she has assured the District Review Committee meeting here on December 27 that she would arrange a meeting of legislators from the district with the Chief Minister within a week. On the other hand the sugar mills in the district have not paid the Rs. 13 crore arrears to the farmers and not issuing permits for this year crop. He criticised the TDP’s proposed dharna in Mambojipally blaming the policies of the TD government for the crisis.
