Two farm labourers electrocuted
Staff Reporter
NUZVID (Krishna dist.): Two agriculture labourers died due to electrocution in separate incidents on Sunday. Family members of Chundru Moshey, 45, staged a dharna in front of the electricity office here demanding ex gratia from the Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (SPDCL). Moshey, a resident of Katrenipadu village of Musunuru mandal, came in contact with a livewire when he was working in an orchard in his village in the afternoon.
When the Musunuru police were trying to send the body for a post-mortem, family members and relatives of the victim prevented them from doing so and staged a dharna in front of the office of the SPDCL’s assistant divisional engineer, with the body for about two hours.
They withdrew their agitation, following an assurance from the officials that they would recommend payment of an ex gratia of Rs. 1 lakh to the kin of the deceased. The Musunuru police registered a case.
In another incident, Sadam Bulliah alias Babu Rao, 50, of Vadlamuru village of Aagiripalli mandal, died when he came in contact with a live wire in his village. The Aagiripalli police registered a case.
