Girl hospitalised after being ‘caned’ at school
Staff Reporter
ELURU: B.K. Sindhu, a 6th standard student of St. Theresa’s High School here, was reportedly hospitalised due to corporal punishment meted out by the school authorities.
The victim’s father B. K. S. R. Ayyangar filed a petition before Y. Hemachandar, Additional District Judge and Secretary of the West Godavari District Legal Services Authority, seeking action against the school authorities.
The Legal Services Authority, in turn, served notices on the school headmistress and science teacher, who allegedly beat up the girl.
“I literally carried my child to the government hospital for treatment,” he recounted.
