Inflation and unemployment are the major enemies facing the world’s workers this year, the International Labour Organisation said on February 9. Gains in the past year generally outweighed losses, an ILO report stated. Unemployment was more prevalent at the end of 1957 than in the recent past, the document said, and added that India had reported a 17 per cent increase in job applications.
