Letters to the Editor
The report that an armed group of suspected naxalites walked into the Adiyamankottai police station Dharmapuri district in Tamil Nadu early on Saturday and walked out with six firearms, a bayonet, and a walkie-talkie is shocking. Worse was the fact that the police personnel on duty did not offer any resistance. It is a cause for serious concern that the incident occurred at a police station located on the busy Salem-Bangalore national highway. Stern action should be taken against the police personnel who were on duty when the group struck. R. Murali Kumar, Srirangam
